There is one thing I hate about the summer....the durge which seems to hit the TV. Suddenly summer becomes a reality TV monster and I wonder where all the good programmes have gone.

Its started already, the end came for SG1 (at least over here in the UK...and yes I'm still getting over the fact my favourite TV show EVER has come to its end) as well as Stargate Atlantis. I lost Sky One due to the whole virgin media/sky thing going on, so I haven't seen the end of Season Three BSG yet either.

I need to play catch up with Heroes, which I think will be ending soon also. I also have noticed that a host of other shows i follow during the week will be ending soon, programmes such as Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, Boston legal...and argh....Life on Mars final episode next week!

OK so summer is meant to be filled with days out enjoying the sun (I live in the UK there are only a handful of such days to look forward to usually) and friends often ask me when I get a chance to watch so many TV shows...there called DVD's people, you know those things which replaced VHS and you can record on them as well as buy your favourite TV shows in boxsets to enjoy years later and reminisce on the good old days of TV.

So what are folks watching? or not watching? Re Runs have always been a good thing I suppose, I mean I can never get enough of Home Improvement, Due South and Scrubs as well as the old faithfuls, Frasier and Friends and SG1 (for the scfi fans out there). But still, why are all the good decent shows kept for autumn premiers, which finish late spring, early summer and leave a few months or durge filled reality show evilness (well aside from Celebrity get me out of here, which i must admit after last year, I'm a huge fan of, and not just becauseof the cheeky geordie lads hosting the show)

Of course I suppose folks would say, why not watch more UK shows...theres tons of soaps...I proceed to beat said folks with mutant lemons at such a preposterous idea...soaps indeed, I'd rather watch the durge of reality TV than soaps, I mean I'm asking for decent Tv shwos to watch not something to send me into the depths of depression and suicidal tendecies.

I'm just ranting, I think its been spawned from the fact that even though I look forward to the autumn premiers of shows, my favourite one will not be returnign (ok ok, in film form it shall be but its not the same as twenty weeks of epiosde after episode)...and despite the fact Atlantis is somethign to look forward to, I shall be mouring my SG1 fix for sometime me thinks.

Ok rant over, I guess....

happy tv watching folks, unless your a lucky person who gets the sun more than a handful of times a year and get to enjoy yourself out in the warmth makign yourself into a baked poatato rather than me the couch potato wondering if I'll ever see that giant ball of fire in the sky peep out of the clouds at any time between the months of may and august.

Ugh, reality shows. I can't stand those. In the states, it's just as bad. The one I couldn't stand was The Surreal Life. My best friend loved that show. I couldn't stand watching it.

Yeah, all the good stuff always happens in the fall when the kids are in school and the major holidays are around the corner. Heck, the summers here in the Midwest are really bad. 110 degree weather will keep anyone indoors. There's no beack to go to and the tans are more like burns. It stinks.

I miss watching SG1 and Atlantis. We have so many different cable and HD companies to shoose from that it's hard to keep up at times. So many shows to watch, so little time.
