On July 9th, 2008, Herman “June” Roy, 58, of Grand Isle, Maine, pled guilty to the charges of Criminal Trespassing and Criminal Withholding (Kidnapping). His sentence was stern, even thought it was his first offence. The judge said that a monetary fine wouldn’t reflect the severity of the crime, but jail time might. Five days in jail, for which he must pay his time during his service, and donations to a victims fund. He was also found guilty of OUI and his license was suspended for 90 days. He is also in counseling for his addiction to alcohol and for his obvious problem with sexuality, and his life as a whole.
Mr. Roy invaded (the judge used this word, so I feel that I can use it also) my house in March 20, 2008 and proceeded to question me about my sexuality, a subject that seemed to fascinate him to no ends. His questions were dehumanizing, degrading to me, and to my relationship, and to my family. Mr. Roy used homophobic slurs, and stereotypical homophobic jargon. For example, asking if my father or a family member had raped me since I was now in a relationship with a woman. Who was the man and who was the woman in our relationship. Why I didn’t like men anymore. He wanted to ‘’take me upstairs to the bedroom and straighten me out.” Once he left, without me having been physically harmed, the police gave him a warning, to which he didn’t heed. On April 1st, 2008, he once again came to my door. This time he left without getting into the house, the door was locked not to protect me from him, but him from me. With baseball bat in hand, I warned him that if I made it outside, he’d never get up again, and that was a promise. He left and when he arrived home, was served his restraining order, and told to stay home. He did not. Moments later, he was back on the road and the Sheriff arrested him for OUI.
I’m posting this for two reasons. One, if something like this happens to you, any type of harassment for your sexuality, your choice in friends, your choice in jobs, for any reason what so ever, the law can and will work for you. But ONLY if you aren’t too scared to do something about it. People like this are why people stay IN the closet, it’s safer to be hidden away because you never know when someone like this will darken your door step.
The second reason is that after 5 days, he will be back on the streets. Albeit sober, but that can change with one drink. He is not to drive any type of vehicle, from his ATV to a riding lawn mower. I hope that Mr. Roy gets all the help he can, he obviously has problems with his own sexuality, or by other peoples. He has issues with alcohol and I do, sincerely hope that his efforts succeed and he gets the help he needs and deserves.
Even though he didn’t treat ME like a human being, I hope that he turns into a better human being because of this incident. This incident didn’t change anything in my life, I am still me, I won’t hide who I am, or who I love. I do hope it changes him and makes him more mindful of the world around him, and the people he deals with. His problem with my sexuality is just that, HIS problem, not mine.
Mr. Roy did apologize in court to me, but he was unable to make eye contact with me, and I can understand why. Not only was he caught, not only was he going to jail, he is now dealing with very serious personal issues, and I hope he overcomes them.

So I’m not a critic, or at least, I’m not paid to be one. I’m a big TV watcher, mainly because, well, check it out, we have LONG winters in Maine, and there is only so much sex a girl can stand…. So I’m reviewing the shows I watch... I might stick with it, doing it once or twice a week
Sunday nights are a total bore, nothing on, thank the gods that there is NASCAR on during the day….EXCEPT
Brother’s And Sisters. Just one thing, why kill Tom Skerrit? I loved him an Sally Fields as hubby and wife on Steel Magnolias. … such a loss
Monday " Prison Break. Ok, I was one of the first on this bandwagon, and must I say… I hope they get caught! It’s boring with them out in the real world. I have this odd feeling that PB was only supposed to be a 1 season wonder. Bored, bored… bored…
Then there is Vanished. Ok, so… I was giddy, I was happy, I was ecstatic, GOD was back on TV, that’s right, the absolutely sexy Gale Harold. Then I watched the show. Don’t get me wrong, I think the show is good, just… well, I’m on DaVinci overload, so, why take a good show and mess it up with chasing the Freemasons? (Which is what Dan Brown is writing about NEXT time around). It seems like there is a bit of scrambling on the show, like, writing wise… but, what do I know, I think Vanished will do just that, Vanish soon.
CSI Miami " It’s like watching repeats of the previous shows. Zzzzzz
Oh, and WHERE IS MEDIUM????? I’ll take my normal looking psychic mom, with her REAL acting kids, and every so deep voiced sexy hubby any day of the week….
Tuesdays " Thank god for House " There, I said it. I love House. I thought the leg kinna grew bad to quickly, but, hey, we’re not done yet. Bryan Singer, take note, you were missed on X-Men 3 m’man
NCIS " The season of secrets? Um? What, that Tony and Ziva are out of the office buddies? That Probie has a crush on Abby? Let’s just stick to what we know best, and that’s solving crimes, now won’t we?
Wednesday " Bone… Um, who is the new head of the department? Some… chick, who I can’t stand and she has NO chemistry with sexy Angel… err… Booth, yeah… So, why? WHY?
Justice " The best part of this show, (aside from Victor Garbor) is the guest stars, namely Erin Daniels. Note to FOX, what were you thinking NOT picking up that woman’s pilot?
CSI: NY " Hmm, another show with another Mainer on it… Can’t complain there… Oh, wait, yes, I miss Vanessa (Aiden Burn) more edge… But, Gary S is the man, hands down, sorry Grissom
Thursday " SERIOUSLY! Grey’s… ‘nuff said, just, I’m a Maine girl and sooo happy to see Pat Dempsey on TV every week….. always was a dreamboat… Oh, and I wanna yell at the TV "YOUR PRESTON BURKE!" Isaih W is playing this sooo perfect, and Sandra Oh, well, she wins the awards for a reason, yes? Chris O'Donnel, hook up with Izzy, you two have a lot in common... Oh, and is Eric Dane gonna have is XMEN Powers, cuz... I can handle multiples of him any day of the week.... oh yummy...
CSI: Vegas " yawn…
ER " I miss Abby in the ER, someone shoot Morris for killing Robert Romano, cuz the wanna be Ramano that appeared this week, well... sucks ass in a major way...I miss Jerry, but he’s in Alaska with some sexy Canadian babes (Suki Mathews or something, and Sara Strange, a comic book name if ever I heard one) on Men In Trees…. No buying the new George Clooney wanna be John Stamos… sorry… Non…
Then, there is Ugly Betty " the best new show if ever I’ve seen one. Ok, so the editing is a wittle different, the colors of the show are slightly, well, over the top. But, Eric Mabius, (who is always great) and America are great together, I cannot wait for the comic timing to be down pat, they are gonna be so good.
Friday " Battlestar Galactica " I love the fracking Cylons… BAM, they killed #6 and she’s back in Baltars head, I love it! Oh and a fat, really fat, Apollo (Jamie Bammer), wow. Adama, order him to do some situps! I’m betting that Apollo’s wife is a Cylon, really… There are six more out there… and the Cylon and with a baby with Kara Thrice, … Oh, how wicked a web they are weaving.. THAT is TV thinking, keeping us hooked, is it Friday yet? Seriously...
